Kaiser Permanente retained JRJ to help implement their ‘next-gen’ model – a mission to enhance the member experience, reduce wait times and provide comprehensive care in a single easy to access location. Repurposing an existing 16,400 SF clinic, the new layout is structured around the ‘public square’ which connects the front door and lobby to the exam rooms and lab with separate entries for the Pharmacy and Imaging departments. The new interior space plan utilizes a modified ‘on-stage / off-stage’ model with exam rooms directly off the public square with embedded Medical Assistant and Physical Touchdown stations. A separate ‘off-stage’ administration area provides space for physician offices and support staff. The design team utilized 3D modeling technology to model the space three dimensionally, allowing the client to experience the care environment and make changes prior to final design.
